We will train, exercise, socialize and enrich your dog's life with tender loving care. We also feed and medicate.
We specialize in dogs that can be challenging to walk, need special care, extra attention and/or require an experienced and familiar hand to add consistency.
Having a trusted professional trainer walk and work one on one with your dog is not only an effective approach and a great solution, it is also fun for your dog and gives you a peace of mind.

How do we get started?

Contact us by email or phone to ask any questions and determine what you need for you and your dog. We will send you a questionnaire to better prepare for the consult, understand your goals, concerns and dog's background. After we have set up a time for our initial behavior and training consult, we might provide you with instructions on how to prepare for the visit. Keeping a pen ready for notes, questions, videos of your dogs "problem behavior" will be useful.

All services (training, walking, day training, petsitting) starts with a in home behavior and training consultation.

What does the initial consult include?
The initial meeting includes an assessment of your dog and an evaluation of the current situation in order to identify the "problem" you wish to address. After discussing goals, options and solutions we will create a plan tailored for you and your dog's need.
Then we start the training, by first explaining and demonstrating the exercises and then continuing by having you practice the behaviors. Having a trained eye observing and helping you in the right direction is key.
After the consult you will receive a personalized written report, summarizing observations, protocol, recommendations, exercises. Email and phone support is included between sessions. We appreciate feedback and encourage updates.

We provide training treats (healthy, high quality, USA made food). Let us know ahead of time if your pet has any dietary restrictions, such as allergies.
How much training does my dog need?
Since each dog and handler situation is unique, the amount of sessions and training needed is more accuratly determined at the time of consult. Amount of sessions, lenght of training needed greatly depends on each case; due to the severity of a behavior, previous training, frequency of the problem, the animal's background, how long the dog has been practicing the behavior, emotional state, learning opportunities between sessions, the environment and owner compliance.

Does your dog fear and get stressed at the veterinary office? You are not alone. Is your dog OK during vet appointments but want to make handling and visits more positive? Your dog and veterinarian will thank you. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
These sessions are meant to help you and your dog make handling easier during grooming, exam and procedures. You will learn to recognize stress, avoidance, fear, anxiety in the dog and find out how to help, prevent, manage and change your dogs underlying emotions through desensitization and counterconditing while using force free & low stress handling techniques.
We will cover fun exercises involving nail trims, muzzle, welcome mats, foundation skills and more.
The American kennel club started the program in 1989, and it is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community.
In preparation towards the test you'll discover the many benefits and joys of training. Working together with your pal towards a goal is fun and it will enhance the bond and relationship between you and your dog.
Teaching your dog good life skills and learning how to prepare for everyday situations will not only make you a responsible pet owner but also show that your dog is a good ambassador for dogs in the community.
Dogs who have a solid obedience education are a joy to live with-they respond well to household routines, have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs, and they fully enjoy the company of the owner who took the time to provide training, intellectual stimulation, and a high quality life.
Having a well manned dog means more freedom for the dog and more peace of mind to you.
In certain situations, a canine good citizen certificate can earn you discounts at hotels, insurances and rentals.
The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, performance events and therapy work.
The CGC test is open for purebreds, mixed breeds, puppies, adults and senior.

There is a huge need for "real life training" such as being well mannered around other dogs and people, under control in public areas, staying focused on you in high distraction settings.

We will arrange sessions conveniently held at a public park location and cover topics such as stay, polite walking, reliable recalls, focus exercises, how to pass a dog on the street and greet a stranger, settle at a public place and much more. We will help you address emerging behavior problems, training issues, lack of focus and compliance, excitability to help your dog succeed.

This is an invaluable opportunity for any dog living in the community and for people that are looking to manage the day to day scenarios a bit smoother. A must for the modern dog!
This is a great foundation for Canine Good Citizen, Certification as we work towards responsible dog owners and good canine ambassadors.

Wonder what ever happened to that sweet puppy you had? Between the months of 4-6 to 1-3 years of age, dogs are teenagers with potential to turn into little monsters. We often think of them as adult dogs and expect them to behave accordingly. However, dogs need lots of guidence, training, exercise and support during this time.
We will help you address emerging behavior problems, training issues, distractions, vices, lack of focus, compliance excitability to help your dog succeed.

We focus largely on outdoor scenarious, self control exercises, passing dogs on the street, people manners, focus on handler around distractions, reliable recalls but we address games and activities to prevent unruly and destructive behaviors in the home as well.
A highly recommended course to take after Star Puppy Start Right Program, as well as designed to prepare your dog for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.
